The FBS Process for Custom Security Solutions

A Tailored Approach To Your Security
If you’re looking into security doors and windows for your luxury home, this is probably not the first website you’ve visited looking for more information. There are plenty of manufacturers out there, but we’re confident that you won’t find anyone else doing what we’re doing.
Not only are our doors and windows elegant and beautiful, but they’re completely customizable from the inside out and can be tailored to fit your exact design aesthetic — without compromising your security needs. We can literally make anything you want. We like to say that if you can dream it, we can do it.
The other thing that sets us apart from the competition is the approach we take and the experts we bring into the process. From the start, we’ll engage architects, engineers, technology experts, and security experts (who literally protected the President — two of them, in fact) to look over your design plans.
These experts will work with your existing architects, interior designers, security team, and anyone else you feel is important to make sure that all of your needs and expectations are being addressed — and not just met, but exceeded.
Let’s get into our process and the experts with whom we proudly partner.
From beginning to end, the full process follows a carefully coordinated sequence to ensure exceptional results.

Step 1: Evaluate Your Security
Needs & House Plans
When we first engage with clients, we ask a lot of questions and do a lot of listening. This is entirely about you, so it’s very important for us that we understand exactly what you need from the start. We can’t give you what you need if we don’t know what that is.
At the beginning, Design Engineering will take the lead , Jonathan Hamilton, or a highly-qualified member of his team will be spending a lot of time getting to know you and your project.
Together with your security team, architect, and interior designer, we’ll discuss security concerns you have, the type of security you feel you need to adequately protect yourself and your family, and look at the plans you have for your luxury home.
Your architect and interior designer can help guide us on color palette choices and which materials would fit the aesthetic of your home. Here, we can also discuss the security level of windows and how the different types of glass will affect the frame size and the weight of the window itself.
The initial planning stage is a great time to discuss BallistiCrete. If security is a major concern for you, BallistiCrete is a product that will quite literally bulletproof your walls. It can certainly be added later on, but if you’re doing a new-build or a large-scale renovation, it’s good to plan for that extra step. Furthermore, you could even opt to create an entire wall out of BallistiCrete — a feat much easier if you don’t have to tear a wall out first.
And of course, this is also when we’ll discuss your budget. Before we get started on design, we want to make sure that we’re all on the same page — that you understand what we can provide for you and what it will cost, and we understand what you’re looking to spend.
Regardless of whether you’re building a new home, remodeling your existing home, or simply looking for better doors and windows, we can make anything you want. No matter what, we’ll make sure your security is never compromised.

Step 2: Assemble The Team
Once a client chooses to move forward, we bring together the key players involved in the project. This includes your architects, interior designers, builders, and any other stakeholders who are shaping the space. We align them with our internal design team—which includes experienced designers, architects, and engineers—to ensure seamless integration.
This step isn’t just about reviewing specifications; it’s about building a shared vision. By coordinating early, we make sure our solutions work in harmony with the overall design, construction timelines, and technical requirements. Every door and window becomes part of a larger architectural language—beautiful, secure, and perfectly fitted to its environment.

Step 3: Design & Engineer YourDoors, Windows & Technology
A member of our design team will collaborate directly with your project’s designers, architects, or builders to review the specifics of your doors—everything from the type (hinged or pivot), to finishes and materials that align with your aesthetic, to any special features you'd like to incorporate (including hidden compartments, if desired).
Another important focus will be climate-specific considerations. Some door coverings we offer aren’t suitable for high heat or humidity, even for interior use like in bathrooms. Others require sheltering under a portico if used outdoors. If there’s no plan for a portico, we’ll help guide you toward better-suited finishes that maintain longevity without compromise.
We always take a completely custom approach, especially because many clients are concerned about new doors and windows clashing with existing interiors. Whether it’s frame profiles, glass style, or matching surrounding decor, we understand that a mismatched security feature not only disrupts visual harmony—it may draw attention, undermining the very discretion you’re aiming to preserve.
That’s why we tailor every element of your doors and windows to match the character of your home or project seamlessly. We ensure your security solutions remain invisible to everyone except you—elegant, refined, and discreet.
Following discussions with you and your design team—and ideally a site visit—our team will develop multiple design options, complete with recommended materials, colors, preferred technologies, and any special features you've requested. Once a design is chosen and approved by your architect or interior designer, we move forward with final production and testing in the U.S., using the finest components sourced from Europe.

Step 4: Engineer, Build & Test
Engineering Plans
Before building can begin on your fully customized doors and windows, detailed engineering documents must be prepared. Once you, your architect, and your interior designer have signed off on the final design drawings, our architectural and technical team develops a comprehensive build package.
This document serves as the blueprint for our U.S. assembly process. It includes precise measurements, hardware specifications, selected finishes, glass composition for windows or inserts, any hidden compartments or custom features you've requested, and every detail necessary to ensure flawless execution.
Once approved, our team proceeds with hand-assembly and testing here in the United States, using the finest components sourced from Europe. The result is a product that blends Old World craftsmanship with modern American precision—ready to be installed and admired.
Build & Test
Once the engineering documents are approved, we begin production using a proprietary blend of components sourced exclusively from our trusted European partners—renowned for their excellence in locks, hardware, finishes, and glazing systems.
Every door and window is assembled by hand in the United States using the most advanced fabrication tools available. We utilize state-of-the-art laser tube cutting technology to perform all structural cuts with micron-level accuracy. Precision welding starts with a perfect cut—and this process ensures unmatched consistency, strength, and alignment across every unit we build.
From there, each product is carefully assembled, integrating advanced locking systems, smart access technology, and any custom features requested. Before shipping, your doors and windows are fully installed in our in-house testing bays. We verify door swing performance, test biometric and electronic systems, confirm structural integrity, and inspect every detail—mechanical and aesthetic.
Only once everything meets our standards does the product get packed and shipped. Whether your project is around the corner or across the world, you're receiving the very best of European craftsmanship and American precision, fused into one flawless result.

Step 5: Delivery & Installation
The final step is delivery and installation. From start to finish, this process takes about 60-90 days, assuming there are no delays on the client side.
Because we’re a manufacturer, we typically do not install the doors and windows ourselves, which some clients find strange. But we like to look at it as a good thing — you get to hire whichever contractor you trust, and we have a technician present during installation to make sure everything is going according to plan, and offer guidance to the contractor.
Once your door is installed (or from the date of frequent use, if you’re not living there at the time), the Platinum Level Service plan kicks in. What this means is that you’ll have a person to call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week if anything is wrong with your doors or windows, you’re having any trouble programming your technology, or you need help of any kind.
If you do need a maintenance call, we will be at your place of residence within 48 hours (weather and travel permitting) to fix whatever the problem is. Even if an unrelated contractor cuts the cable to your motorized front door two months after installation, we’ll come out and see that it gets repaired. If we can’t do it ourselves, we’ll find a local contractor for you.
No matter what happens, you’ll have one phone number to call and we’ll take care of the rest. We like to say it’s Fast, Bold, and Seamless.
